  1. Standardised Service Charges
    1. Members are advised to follow the standardised service charges as set by our Association ( see standardised service charge ).
    2. Members are not allowed to advertise different service charge in newspapers, promotional leaflets or brochures.
  2. Selling Price of Branded Computers (Desktop PC, Notebook, Netbook.)
    1. Members are advised to sell branded computers at recommended retail price ( RRP ) set by the suppliers or distributors.
    2. Members are not allowed to advertise the selling price of branded computers below the recommended retail price ( RRP ) set by the suppliers or distributors or offering free items in newspapers advertisement, promotional leaflets, brochures or price tag unless such free items are the promotional gifts from the suppliers or principals.
    3. Members are not allowed to place itemised advertisement of computer components in newspapers unless it is a bundling or upgrade option.

Exceptions

The above guidelines can be relaxed under the following circumstances.

  1. During PC Fair or ICT Expo. However, participants are still required to observe the terms and conditions imposedby the organiser of the event. The organizing committee members reserve the rights to decide on the proper action to be taken against errant member(s) and the decision made by the organizing committee members shall be final.
  2. Roadshow by suppliers or principals.
  3. New outlet opening promotion ( within 30 days from opening )

 

Actions for Non-Compliance

Step 1 - The Branch Committee or Disciplinary Committee will call or visit the member concerned and explain to the member on the necessity to follow the guidelines for the interests of Members’ Firms and set certain time period for Members’ Firms to follow.

Step 2 - If the members fails to comply, the Branch Committee or Disciplinary Committee will ask the members to be presented at meeting ( at such place and time the Committee or Disciplinary Committee decides ) to explain on reasons of failure to comply. The Committee or Disciplinary Committee may grant extension of time to Members’ Firm to comply if the reasons given are satisfactory to the Committee or Disciplinary Committee.

Step 3 - If the reasons given by member is unsatisfactory to the Committee or Disciplinary Committee, a warning letter will be issued to the Members’ Firms to seek compliance within the stipulated period of time, failing which the Members’ Firm will face one or more of following consequence(s).

  1. Bar from participating in ICT Expo organised by CSSA for one time.
  2. Bar from participating in ICT Expo organised by CSSA for second time for continuing non-compliance.
  3. Request to withdraw from membership of the branch or face expulsion under Rule 6(2) of the Rules & Constitution of CSSA Sarawak.

Note : Pursuant to Rule 6(3) of the Rules & Constitution, no firm / company who has been expelled from the Association under Rule 6(2) shall at any time be re-admitted as member.
